Bali, Indonesia - The Ecoducation Atap Langit Foundation (YEAL) is proud to announce its participation in the IORA Blue Carbon Hub Think Tank Meeting which took place from 12 to 14 September 2023 in Bali, Indonesia. This meeting, organized by the IORA Blue Carbon Hub with collaboration from the Indonesian Government, discusses various aspects of Nature-Based Solutions for Coastal Adaptation.
The meeting aims to bring together thoughts and experiences from various member countries of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) in an effort to protect coastal ecosystems, address the impacts of climate change, and raise awareness of the importance of blue carbon ecosystems in ecosystem-based adaptation.

During the meeting, YEAL plays an active role in various discussions and working sessions. The aim is to share the knowledge and experiences that has been gained by the foundation through its conservation and education activities in West Papua.
The main topics that was discussed in the meeting include:
- Potential, Challenges and Successes in Using Blue Carbon Ecosystems: The various examples and successes in using blue carbon ecosystems to support ecosystem-based adaptation and overcome the impacts of climate change.
- Policy Frameworks Supporting Adaptation Actions: Views on the policy frameworks needed to support adaptation actions in various IORA member countries.
- Information on Best Practices: Best practices in using blue carbon ecosystems to adapt to the impacts of climate change.
- Knowledge Gaps: Identifying knowledge gaps that currently hinder the implementation of effective adaptation solutions, and encourage collaborative efforts across IORA.
YEAL will utilize this opportunity to take part in the international efforts to protect coastal environments and address climate change. We believe that collaboration is the key to achieving our common goal of preserving nature.
