The ‘Rumah Baca’ or Reading House programme has been active in supplying books to children in Papua since 2007.

Born from the reality that many children in Papua find it difficult to have the opportunity to receive proper education. The ‘Rumah Baca’ is the center of child service in Sorong, gathering individuals from all over Papua who long to serve children and providing them with the essential books and information.

Over time, the ‘Rumah Baca’ programme has sent at least 5 tonnes of books to people all over Papua. As the birthplace of the ‘Rumah Baca’, our foundation continues to work with other NGOs and stakeholders such as the Embassy of the United States of America and 'Tangan Terbuka Media' in order to sustain the provision of books for children and increase the literacy rate for children in Papua.
